Local Financial Advisor Promotes Eastern Wake County Through Baseball Dale Merritt Sponsors Mudcats Networking Night for ASU Triangle Chapter Alumni
RALEIGH, N.C. (July 14, 2008) - Dale Merritt, a financial advisor at Banyan Rock & Talent, a Raleigh-based collaboration of wealth strategists, is working to promote the growth of eastern Wake County. The Zebulon native and Appalachian State University (ASU) graduate sponsored a networking event for ASU's Triangle Alumni Chapter, inviting local alumni to a recent Carolina Mudcats game.
"I grew up in Zebulon when there were many dirt roads and open fields," said Merritt. "Back in 1991, when I attended the first Mudcats game, all I remember were bleacher seats and plumbing. Both eastern Wake County and Five County Stadium have prospered in recent years; it's an amazing difference. There's even the Cattails restaurant overlooking the field."
Thirty-five people turned out for the baseball networking night, 25 of which were ASU alumni. As a result of the success, a second event is scheduled for Aug. 19. Merritt hopes networking through Mudcats games will not only create buzz about the minor league team, but will also remind North Carolina residents of eastern Wake County's exciting growth and development.
"There are a lot of ASU alumni in eastern Wake County, and they need to be aware of the Carolina Mudcats versus just the Durham Bulls," Merritt added. "There are two teams here! I am very proud of them, and I want other people to know who they are."
